Hi! I am

Alja Petric

From architecture to sound, from form to vibration

I experience creation as a dialogue with space.

My work explores how sound, voice, and vibration shape environments that support presence, listening, and inner expression.

My approach is grounded in formal studies in jazz singing and pedagogy at the Gustav Mahler Private University of Music, and further shaped through professional training in therapeutic sound work, including certification in Peter Hess® sound massage, alongside ongoing education in somatic vocal and body-based practices.

I’m a vocalist, sound artist, and vocal mentor working at the intersection of sound, space, and embodied listening.

“I don’t see life only as a physical place to inhabit, but as living energy — a space that supports, holds, and allows growth, where we can slow down, listen, and express ourselves freely.”

Vocalist

As a vocalist, I work with the voice as a living, expressive instrument.

Moving between improvisation, poetry, and ambient sound, my performances draw inspiration from jazz, ethnic traditions, and nature.

Each performance is shaped as an intimate sound space, inviting listeners into deep listening, emotional presence, and a felt connection with sound in the moment.

Sound artist

As a sound artist, I explore how sound shapes space, the body, and inner experience.

Through voice, acoustic instruments, field recordings, and subtle electronic processing, I create immersive sound landscapes for concerts, sound meditations, and site-specific environments.

These works are designed to support slowing down, grounding, and a return to inner balance within the rhythm of everyday life.

Vocal mentor

In my work as a vocal mentor, the voice is approached holistically as an expression of the whole person.

Breath, body awareness, and emotional presence are integrated into each session, supporting both singers and non-singers.

Through individual sessions and group workshops, participants are guided to explore their voice with more freedom, confidence, and connection to themselves.
