Spaces IX
Spaces IX is a contemporary sound art project exploring the dialogue between sound and architecture.
Each recording emerges as a site-specific improvisation, created in direct response to the acoustics, atmosphere, and spatial resonance of a selected architectural environment.
In September 2023, the album Spaces IX was recorded inside the church of the former Cistercian monastery Fons Beatae Mariae in Kostanjevica na Krki, now part of the Božidar Jakac Art Museum complex.
The recording captures live musical improvisations shaped by the unique reverberation of the historic space.
Concept: Jernej Babnik Romaniuk, Zavod Murmur
Recording & Production: Zavod Murmur
The sound material includes performances created with 15 Himalayan singing bowls, 6 crystal bowls, gongs, bells, rattles, and voice, forming an immersive acoustic experience that bridges sound installation, live performance, and architectural listening.
